Choose Healing Over Silence
Rape survivor, adventurer, and activist Claire McFarlane, shares her journey of recovery and healing, explaining why it is so essential to break the silence...
In 1999, South African-born Claire McFarlane was brutally raped and left for dead on the streets of Paris, France. Ten years later, her attacker was caught through DNA. What followed was a complicated, costly struggle with the French legal system. Her attacker is already a free man (having served less than four years in jail) but her battle with the French justice system only ended in October 2015. Claire’s story has become something bigger. By sharing her story publicly and campaigning, she has been able to make some small, yet lasting changes for survivors of rape in France, Australia, and Switzerland. Claire’s purpose now is to make a difference on a global level through ProjectBRA. For more information visit ProjectBRA.org or follow her journey.
