More Power to Moms!
We all have great ideas. We have all thought of the next best thing and dreamed of how it could be the next best thing if only we knew how to make it so. The amount of courage and determination required to take a great idea and turn it into a thriving business is nothing short of extraordinary. This month we are highlighting exceptional women – women who have stepped out of their comfort zone, taken a risk, and come out on top.
Jeannette Dirksen is an extraordinary woman and friend who, as a single mom has turned a great idea, keeping healthy food packed safely for her children’s lunches, into a multi-million dollar success story. When I met Jeannette at a baby gym glass 12 years ago, she was creating a professional development curriculum that is still used to train staff in organizations throughout the country, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. What strikes me about Jeannette is her tireless work ethic, her big heart, and her passion for children and all areas of their growth and well-being. For the past three and half years her focus has been on creating solutions for children that enable them to carry healthier lunches to school and combat childhood obesity. Currently, as founder of PackIt, she has been able to re-invent the way you can keep anything cold. With products now in Target, The Container Store, Bed Bath & Beyond, Fred Meyer, Amazon, among others, what she is most proud of is the role model she is to her children, and the national impact her products are having on children and healthy eating.
“Ensuring that children are healthy from the inside out has always been what lies behind my motivation and drive.” – Jeannette Dirksen
PackIt is a great gift idea for anyone on your holiday list. Whether it is school lunch, work lunch, or snacks in the car, PackIt is a simple easy solution that everyone will appreciate. PackIt is a freezable personal cooler that keeps food colder, fresher, and safer for longer than you could ever before – up to 10 hours! There’s no need for ice that melts or for bulky, toxic ice packs. Simply store your folded PackIt in the freezer until you’re ready to go. PackIt products can be purchased at PackIt or Amazon.
