Ben Towne Foundation: Inspiration & Hope in Action

Happy Spring to the WF1 Community!

I am always moved with the beautiful lessons and gifts that people produce from their own personal tragedy. Today’s message comes from the Ben Towne Foundation. It will take more than a minute to watch this incredible video, but it will make your week! Hope, inspiration and authenticity are the values that we are striving for daily at Women For One. This video is an example times 1000 of our principles. I want to thank Carin Towne, Co-founder of the Ben Towne Foundation, for speaking with me and providing me with her story on a video below. Carin, we honor you for your work and your inspirational journey of love for your son and other children of the world.

Ben Towne Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation was founded in 2010 in honor of Ben Towne, a fiercely determined, passionate and loving little boy, who died of neuroblastoma at the age of three. According to the National Cancer Institute, cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among U.S. children. Ben Towne Foundation’s mission is to accelerate research for childhood cancer – changing the way pediatric cancers are treated and cured.

To that end, Ben Towne Foundation is proud to support the groundbreaking work of Dr. Michael Jensen, Director of the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research at Seattle Children’s Research Institute. Dr. Jensen has developed a method of reprogramming the body’s own defense system to kill cancer. His research promises a future of cancer cures for children without the devastating side effects of radiation and chemotherapy.

Ben Towne Foundation is unique in that all costs are fully supported – so 100% of donations go directly towards this innovative research. For more information, please visit www.bentownefoundation.org.

But the reality of Ben’s journey and the truth that we now know — that pediatric cancer is the number one disease killer of children — will not let us; for there is work to be done. And we intend to do it. We will be a voice for pediatric cancer research — a voice for children who cannot speak for themselves. This is our story.” upload_date=”2012″ duration=”4M57S” /]
