Oprah Honors Lorraine Kerwood-McKenzie, Founder of NextStep Recycling

Lorraine Kerwood-McKenzie was awarded the Toyota Standing O-Vation award at Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend in Seattle, Washington. The Toyota Standing O-Vation recognizes extraordinary people who are making positive changes in their communities and inspiring others to do the same.  Oprah Winfrey and Toyota brand ambassador, Amy Purdy, honored Lorraine Kerwood-McKenzie, Founder of NextStep Recycling, an Oregon-based program created to make technology available to those who could not afford it and can greatly benefit from gaining experience and education with computers. As a recipient of the Standing O-Vation award, NextStep Recycling will receive a $25,000 grant from Toyota in support of its outstanding commitment to making technology accessible to underserved individuals.
