Untangling the Web & Connecting to Your Soul: Christine Gutierrez on Your Messy Brilliance® Show

I’m truly grateful to be bringing you this episode of Your Messy Brilliance® Show with my dear friend, Christine Gutierrez. I’ve known Christine for several years, and she’s one of those brilliant spirits who lights up a room and carries wisdom well beyond her years.

Christine is a leading Latina licensed psychotherapist, an advice columnist, speaker, author, and poet. Her Christineg.tv is an online hub that features psychologically savvy and soulful advice, articles, videos, private consultations, workshops, retreats, radio appearances, and television projects.

Among her many projects, Christine created the nonprofit Therapy is Cool™, founded in Puerto Rico, where the mission is to empower, educate, and share resources with marginalized youth and communities. She is also the co-author of the popular e-book, The Care of Wounded Wings: A Guide to Soar Through Life’s Tough Times. In addition, she founded Diosa Tribe, a virtual and face-to-face sisterhood where the diversity of women’s lives and experiences is wholeheartedly celebrated.

Latina magazine featured Christine as “The Future 15: The Healer,” and TimeOut NY called her “the go-to for the perpetually burnt out.” She has also been featured in Glamour, Refinery 21, Forbes, Cosmopolitan, Lifetime TV, and much more.

Known for breaking stigmas, Christine is taking therapy to the next level, fusing ancient wisdom with modern psychology. Her approach is real, honest, and gets to the heart of the matter using a fierce, raw, and loving voice. In this conversation, Christine and I talk about how women can learn to connect to the soul self rather than the wounded self—especially if we’ve experienced trauma, abuse, addiction, or self-hatred.

Christine constantly reminds her clients of the famous Rumi quote: “The wound is the place where the light enters you.” In fact, it’s Christine’s own experience of moving through trauma and punctured self-worth that led her to embrace the value of self-love. Through her hard-won wisdom, Christine helps other brave women navigate their own inner terrain. In her words, “I’m a spiritual archaeologist who helps people connect the bones of their past.”

I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!
