“V-Day”

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and while it is typically seen as a day to honor relationships, Women for One honors all of those who have overcome unhealthy relationships and domestic violence. Wf1 Truthtellers have shared their stories of deep pain, suffering and how they regained their self-worth to inspire other women to take action in their lives.

Eve Ensler, a performer, feminist and activist, has created an organization known as V-Day to celebrate women and end violence against women and girls throughout the world. One of V-Day’s campaigns, One Billion Rising, is the biggest mass action to end violence against women in human history. This movement launched on Valentine’s Day in 2012 as a call to action in response to the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women would be beaten or raped in her lifetime.

We are joining One Billion Rising in their campaign to honor Wf1 Truthtellers and all the other women in the world!

Now every year on Valentine’s Day women, men and the youth gather to dance outside of courthouses, police stations, government offices, school administration buildings, work places, sites of environmental injustice, military courts, embassies, places of worship, homes, or simply public gathering places where women deserve to feel safe.
